Answers to common questions about anal sex,
sodomy and anal penetration:

1- My partner and I are practicing sodomy since only a short time. Unfortunately, after this kind of sexual relation I have a sore anus during sometimes 2 months. What can we do?

The anal penetration has to be performed in a slow and gentle way and with lubricant. It is usual that a woman have anus “pain” after sodomy but this pain should not last more than 24 hours. Anal sex should not be painful, if it is, you are doing it wrong.

2 - Could you give me some advices in order to practice sodomy?

Sodomy is a frequent phantasm for men but women usually refuse this kind of practice because they think that it is not normal or because of the fear of the pain. In sexology, this practice is not considered as abnormal and it should not be painful if done properly. Here now some general advices about this practice: you first need to convinced your partner that she could takes lots of pleasure and promise her that if it is painful you will stop; your partner has to be relax in order to avoid contractions of anal sphincter which will make penetration really painful. Transmission of aids is more frequent than during vaginal penetration so it is always necessary to use condoms with a new partner. If you have a partner for a while, the use of condoms will avoid a wash after the practice. For anal penetration, the easier position is the one where the woman is on all fours and the man is behind his partner. Use a lubricant in order to lubricate the anus. The penetration has to be made gently, slowly and you should not hesitate to withdraw yourself if she feels pain because a second penetration after few minutes will be always less painful. Avoid too fast and brutal moves. The ejaculation in the rectum is not a problem. After sodomy, never penetrate your partner in the vagina you should first wash thoroughly your penis (whereas anal penetration after vaginal penetration does not need a previous wash). After sodomy, it is possible that the woman wants to go to the toilets.

3 - Is the practice of sodomy dangerous for pregnant women?

NO, this practice does not have harmful consequences for the fetus. Pregnant women often have hemorrhoids so anal penetration can be more painful and some little bleeding can easily occur.

4- I would like to try sodomy, first alone in order to have no pain during the penetration of my partner (one of his phantasm is sodomy). Could you please give me some advices? Should I go slowly (one finger then two then three etc...) or should I use an object in the anus in order to dilate it (How long and with what)?

You could try this practice, alone, using a little dildo or a vibrator in order to get use to this type of penetration, which should always be performed in gentle way.

5- I heard that sodomy should not be practice with any lubricant. Why?

If you practice sodomy without condom, you can use any lubricant you want. With a condom, you should use a non-fatty lubricant because a fatty lubricant could alter the condom. So do not use Vaseline.

6- My partner would like to practice sodomy more often during our sexual relations. I am not against it as I feel some pleasure with sodomy but I am afraid that if we practice it too often, at every sexual relations, my anal muscles will be strain abnormally which will cause some trouble. Is it possible? Is there any risk?

There is no risk if sodomy is practiced in a gentle way, without forcing and using lubricant. Anal muscles are quite elastics. Note that this practice will be even more exciting if it is not practiced at every sexual intercourse!

7- Why are there more risks of aids transmission during sodomy that during a vaginal penetration?

Just because sodomy often leads to some little tearing of anal mucous and this mucous is fragile. These little tearing allow blood and sperm contact.

8- Why vaginal penetration should not be practice after anal penetration?

After anal penetration without condom, it is necessary to avoid a vaginal penetration (except if you have performed a wash of your sex between the two penetrations) in order to not contaminate vagina with bacterium of digestive origin. If you have used a condom for the anal penetration, you will need to change it before the vaginal penetration for the same reason.

9- What is the best position for sodomy?

The best position for sodomy is the woman on all fours.

10- My partner and I, we often practice sodomy. However, I often ask myself if this practice can be harmful for her as we do practice it very regularly. I would like some advices about this practice. I was also wondering why is she getting orgasm during sodomy.

There is no problem with practicing sodomy regularly as long as it is done in a gentle way with no brutality. Concerning the advices, you should have a look at the other asked questions and my sodomy file. Orgasm during sodomy is frequent. It can be explain by the strong excitation that gives this practice but also by the fact that a thin wall only separates the rectum and the vagina.

11- My partner told me that he likes to be sodomized during masturbation. Does this mean that he is homosexual? On your web site, you did not talk about sodomy in heterosexual man. Is it normal?

A man can enjoyed sodomy without being homosexual! It is a different pleasure that many men would like to experience. There are strap on dildos that the woman wears to sodomize her partner.
