Answers to common questions about sexuality and pregnancy:

1- My wife who is five months pregnant tells me it’s dangerous for the baby to have sexual intercourse with penetration, what is your opinion?

In case of a normal pregnancy, penetration is not contraindicated. However, in case of bleeding or if there is a risk of premature birth, then penetration is contraindicated. Therefore, if you do not have any particular problem you can carry on having sexual intercourse trying to use the most comfortable position for your wife, without pressing on her belly.

2 - Is anal sex dangerous for a pregnant woman?

NO, the sodomy will not have bad consequences for the fetus. A pregnant woman often has hemorrhoids so anal penetration can be painful and she can easily bleed a bit.

3- My partner does not ejaculate and it is of psychological origin according to his doctor. Therefore, he produces seminal fluid and has a good erection when we have sexual relations. Do you think that I can get pregnant with this seminal fluid (his penis is "wet" before and during the penetration)?

I think that the liquid that you are talking about is pre-ejaculate (also know as "pre-cum"). This fluid comes from Cowper's glands and does not contain spermatozoon.

4- I ejaculated and just after, I penetrated my partner. We did not use any contraception. Is there a risk for my partner to get pregnant?

Even after ejaculation, few drops of sperm can remain in the urethra. If the penetration occurs just afterward, those few drops might get out into the vagina. This risk can disappear if you take the time to pee between your ejaculation and the penetration.

5- During sexual rubbing with my boyfriend, he ejaculated at the entrance of my vagina. I am still virgin and there was no penetration, my hymen was not been tear. I would like to know if there is a risk that I might get pregnant.

Yes, there is a risk of pregnancy if your partner did ejaculate at the entrance of your vagina even if there was no penetration and no tearing of the hymen. The hymen is not a impermeable membrane and spermatozoa who are on the hymen can penetrate into the vagina and go toward the uterus.

6 - Is it possible to be pregnant and still have its period?

Yes, some women can have their period at the very beginning of their pregnancy.

7- Is it possible to get pregnant during menstrual period?

It is rare but it can happen. During ovulation, some bleedings can occur which can be taken for menstruation if the menstrual cycle is not regular.

8-   I have my period only twice a year. Can I still get pregnant?

Yes, you can get pregnant. Even if you had your menstrual period, only twice a year, ovulation still occurs and this twice a year about 14 days before your next period.

9- If a girl has her period, does it show undoubtedly that she is not pregnant? Can she get bleeding that she might take for her period when she is pregnant?

The fact that a girl has her period does not mean necessarily that she is not pregnant. In fact, some women have their period or little bleeding which they take for their period at the beginning of their pregnancy.

10- After sexual relation, the sperm come out again from the vagina of my partner. Is it normal? Is this can prevent my partner to get pregnant?

This is absolutely normal and variable depending on the volume of the ejaculated sperm. Do not be worry this will not prevent your partner to get pregnant!
